Ross MacKay is a theatre maker with work that has appeared in over 10 countries and 100 different cities around the globe. He has worked as a director, puppeteer and a magician. Sometimes, he is a blend of all three. 

He is currently artistic director of the multi-award winning theatre company, Tortoise in a Nutshell which he co-founded in 2010. The company has toured throughout the world with its work. It also delivers an extensive outreach programme in partnership with theatres and local authorities throughout Scotland.   

Alongside this Ross MacKay works as a freelance artist. He has proudly been an artist on attachment with the National Theatre of Scotland and was the first recipient of the Federation of Scottish Theatre's Supported Director Bursary.

Ross is based in the picturesque village of Aberdour, Scotland. He is the very proud owner of a Blue Peter badge.
